Alma and Myrven started their lives living for a short time in Burke, Idaho, a mining town and then moved to Kellogg, Idaho where Myrven worked in a meat market.  In 1918 they moved to Seattle, Washington because Alman had chronic stomach trouble in Kellogg.  It is supposed she was allergic to the arsenic and minerals in the water which may have caused her difficulty.  The Whaleys moved to Los Angeles in 1920  Alma died in Banning, California, but is buried in Los Angeles, California.
